This body of work explores the social context surrounding the female body, domesticity, and interpersonal relationships in the public and private spheres. Employing historical and contemporary reference, I aim to create a framework beyond these objects’ original purpose while reclaiming, reestablishing and redefining their place in our daily existence. In an effort to highlight the horrific comedy surrounding femininity, gender, and identity in relation to society and culture, I employ a straightforward, satirical approach. Specifically, these works explore incorporation and perpetuation of personal insecurities as they are created by the social institutions and individuals alike.
